Relationship Between Sex And The Food You Eat

Our fore fathers knew it for centuries. That is why the saying, ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach’ has been in usage for so long. If you cook delicious food for him, that would bring a woman much closer to his heart. What about sex? Does the food you consume make you more or less sexually active?

Aphrodisiacs are food items that enhances your appetite for sex. We can find references about the usage of these in ancient books and mythologies too. FDA has not approved of the ability of aphrodisiacs yet. This can be due to the limited testing done so far on these food items.

Vegetables and fruits are the most prominent aphrodisiacs known to man. Most of the commonly known fresh fruits and vegetables are known to enhance our sexual drive. The high fiber content and antioxidant potential of fruits are definitely going to provide a boost to your sex life. Sugary, salty, processed, fried and fatty food items are known to reduce your sexual drive. The same is true about bad habits like consumption of alcohol and caffeinated drinks like coffee, sodas etc. Smoking tobacco products, use of narcotic drugs etc are also going to diminish your libido.

A glass of red wine can add flavor to your evening. If you drink more than this, that would be detrimental to your sexual performance.

Lean protein gained from white meat items like chicken and turkey are good for a healthy sex life. Red meat is not going to provide you the same benefits.

Sea food items like oysters, lobsters, shrimp etc are known for its special power in enhancing your sexual appetite. Oyster has been a favorite food item that Casanova used to share with his lovers.

Chocolate has the power to heat up your bed room. Too much chocolate can be unhealthy for you. But, when consumed in moderation, chocolate can play a role in improving your sex life.

Healthy, nutritious food is a vital part of your physical health and sexual health. If you consume a balanced diet, that would provide a boost to your sexual life. If you routinely consume a multivitamin, that would be beneficial to your over all health.

If you eat your food in appropriate surroundings, that would enhance your sexual appetite. This is proven through the success rate of well arranged dinner dates. If you plan your date well, that can take you to the next step very easily. Feeding your partner sensually with vegetables like carrot can automatically raise the room temperature by a few degrees.

Even if you are not a good cook, you can still spice up the evening through the food you serve your partner/date/spouse. In many situations, it would be the love you put in to cooking the meal that is going to create the greatest impact rather than your mastery of cooking skills. Enjoy it while you are cooking for your partner and the chances that he/she would appreciate the results are much higher. You will get the returns through the intensity of the sex that follows!
